Bradford & Bingley has signed £22m of loans with two housing associations this week.
Hallam Housing Society, in south Yorkshire, has increased its borrowing with the bank from £8m to £13m. It will use the extra £5m to fund new development.

Hundred Houses Society, in Cambridge, has signed a £17m loan with the bank. The facility will cover development as well as refinancing loans with other lenders.

Hallam's loan will help fund the building of about 160 homes.

John Hall, Hallam's finance director, said: "It will mainly fund general needs developments but there will be some supported housing.

"We have a large development programme to push forward.

"We only joined up with Bradford & Bingley a year ago, and decided to continue as we have had good service from them."

The association has slightly less than £2m in old Housing Corporation borrowing and a £4.8m loan with Dexia.
