The ECA Awards honour two of the country's top apprentices with the highest accolade of a gold medal for their exemplary work and examination results.
Not one but two gold medals have been awarded in the ECA Awards to recognise the UK's top apprentice electricians. Michael Phillip, of Southern Electric Contracting in Chichester, and Sam Deverall, of Entric Services, Reading were awarded the top prize by ECA president David Dennison at a luncheon in London.

The silver medal went to Daniel Abbott, apprentice with Eyre Electrical of Norwich while the bronze medal was awarded to Ian Prince of N G Bailey & Co, Southampton.

The awards are presented by the ECA to reward young people who have achieved the highest standards in their training, after passing with distinction their exams in City & Guilds Electrical Installation Work or Electrical Installation Theory.

David Dennison said of the prize-winning apprentices: "They are to be congratulated for their hard work. The electrical contracting industry employs and trains over 8000 apprentices. These awards reflect the importance placed by the ECA on training and help to ensure an electrical contracting workforce that is professional and competent. These young men represent the future of our industry."
