SectorGuard plc – the AIM-listed manned guarding company – has acquired the London division of fellow contractor UK Guarding Services for an initial payment of just less than £100,000.
Further considerations will be payable over the next 12 months dependent upon the performance of those contracts that have been taken over.

The London division of UK Guarding, which boasts an annual turnover of £1.2 million, provides manned security services in three major sectors: local housing authorities, Courts of Law and distribution businesses.

Founded in 1998, SectorGuard supplies security services to an expanding portfolio of clients including Shell International, The Bank of America, The International Press Centre and Sun Life Assurance. Its services take in static guarding, mobile patrols, key holding and alarm response.

Speaking to SMT about the new deal, SectorGuard chief executive David Marks said: "UK Guarding boasts a solid client base with long-term contracts in key areas. Importantly, this acquisition enables us to broaden our service offering by extending into the Courts and the residential arena."

  • International property support services company OCS has announced a change of branding for its security division.

Previously Galago, this Top Ten contractor is now to be known as OCS Security Services.

Commenting on the changeover, OCS Security Services' managing director Richard Fenton-Jones told SMT: "This change provides us with an excellent springboard towards joining the elite Top Five players in the industry."
