Argent's King’s Cross Central will be the biggest central London regeneration project for a century and a half if it gets the green light early next year. More than six years in the making, the scheme by Allies and Morrison and Porphyrios Associates has 60 new buildings, including 1946 homes, and re-uses 1 million ft2 of heritage structures including three listed gasholders.

For almost five years the redevelopment of the Thames-side Lots Road power station has been caught between the politically opposed boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham. Now developer Circadian (a joint venture of Taylor Woodrow and Hutchison Whampoa) is awaiting an imminent decision on the 1.5 million ft2 mixed-use scheme with 802 homes, designed by Terry Farrell & Partners.
