Urban taskforce meets to kick-start renaissance Members of the urban regeneration taskforce, chaired by Lord Rogers (above), are to meet tomorrow in a bid to kick-start the urban renaissance.

One taskforce member told Housing Today that the talks would have an open agenda but they would be focusing on whether enough resources had been developed to carry out the aims of the programme. Rogers is understood to be set to hold talks with deputy prime minister John Prescott now Prescott is back in charge of regeneration.

In addition, the taskforce is to decide tomorrow whether it needs to present a united front at the government's planned urban summit in the autumn or whether members feel that their role is complete and that the urban renaissance programme should now be left to the politicians.
