Depending on your point of view, the disappointing turnout at last month’s Glass & Glazing Federation annual conference hints at complacency about essential legislation, or a ‘don’t panic attitude’ to the succession of Building Regulations and European Norms currently being implemented. Most notable is the publication of the new Approved Document L this month (July), to be implemented in January 2006.
The turnout (just over 100) was all the more disappointing when you consider delegates might have expected a sneak preview about ‘L’. In the end, this didn’t happen.
Perhaps companies are confident that they will be looked after by their suppliers. Any way you choose to read it, it will have to be ‘alright on the night’.
