Thieves in Hull picked the wrong target when they decided to make off with an Orbis Property Protection fast response vehicle.
Unknown to them it was fitted with the GPS tracking device Cybertrak from sister company, Orbis Monitoring.

The drama began when two men dragged an installer from the vehicle and sped off with the Orbis 'void security' equipment and tools. The victim alerted his regional manager, Brian Swann who contacted police while logging on to the Cybertrak web site to pinpoint which street the vehicle was going down, enabling a police car to follow. As soon as the vehicle stopped police arrested the thieves and recovered the stolen vehicle. Orbis provided a full trace of the incident, said Swann. But despite the assistance given to police it did not exempt Orbis from having to pay more than £100 to have the van released from the police compound!
