Sigma-Links, the joint venture of Fujikura Europe and OKI Electric Industry, has launched the Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) optical transceivers for access networks.

EPON access networks provide a low-cost way to deploy fibre-to-the-home technologies between supplier and customer. They provide high speed internet protocol video transmission, VoIP and internet connections over a single optical access system.
