It is estimated that in England, Scotland and Wales over 100 million tonnes of construction and demolition waste is produced every year.
In a bid to reduce this, CIRIA has launched the Internet register of construction recycling facilities website, to encourage construction companies to be more sustainable. The website allows the sourcing of more sustainable recycled materials and the identification of better disposal routes for waste products, providing cost saving opportunities by avoiding landfill tax and transport costs.
