Waterworld: Developer Providus Homes is to build 170 new homes near Ipswich marina after signing a deal with Shaftesbury Housing Group. Under the agreement, Shaftesbury will buy 43 of the homes to use as social housing. The buildings will be complete in 2005. The £250m development is also being used as the spur for the wider regeneration of Ipswich’s Wet Dock and marina district.
