Wear is worth one star

Wear Valley has not had a zero-star rating in the past year, as reported in “Sunderland Housing Group offers aid to struggling north-eastern councils” (24 October, page 14). In our June reinspection by the Audit Commission we were awarded one star.

We have been helped in our service improvements by partners in the private, public and registered social landlord sectors. Sunderland Housing Group has been very supportive, as have Three Rivers, Home Group and others. In the same way, Wear Valley is sharing its good practice with RSLs that have been or are about to be inspected.
