Genesis Housing Group has said the troubled West Hampstead Housing Association will return to profit “in the near future”
Reporting a total deficit of £11.5m for the year ended 31 March, Genesis group finance director David Levenson said day-to-day expenditure had been brought under control. He said: “We are weeding out contracts which have lost the association money. IT and benefit systems have been transferred across to Genesis’ main system.”

The Housing Corporation placed the north London association under supervision last year because of problems with its temporary rented housing.

Genesis took over its management in February 2001.
