Wardens from Castle Vale Community Housing Association in Birmingham have become the first in the west Midlands to obtain a new ODPM national award.

Raja Sandu, Phil Bertie and Darren Clarke (left to right) – on the bikes they use to patrol the Castle Vale estate – achieved a distinction in the neighbourhood renewal unit warden quality standard on Monday.

The warden scheme was reviewed for its services, organisation, financial management and recruitment.
