For children living on the Pollards Hill estate in Mitcham, Surrey, Saturday morning means football training.
The sessions for 5- to 15-year-olds, organised by Pollards Hill Housing Association, a charitable subsidiary of Moat Housing Group, have proved so popular that about 150 hopefuls turn up each week.
The sessions are run by the Pollards Hill neighbourhood warden and youth centre manager, assisted by a team of resident volunteers.
The association spent £1000 of its community initiatives fund on the scheme.
