Glenfiddich single malt whisky is being produced for less at a Girvan distillery.
William Grant & Sons Distillers has won an 80% rebate on its Climate Change Levy energy bill following implementation of a Schneider Electric PowerLogic system.

To get the rebate, the distiller must prove that its non-intensive loads are less than 10% of overall energy consumption. The Schneider energy monitoring system designed and installed by the firm is based on 32 PowerLogic PM620 power meters. These transmit data via Modbus RS485 and Ethernet gateways to a central pc, where calculations on energy use throughout the plant are made via SMS1500 software. Accurate readings are produced as html reports.
