Was I the only reader to feel distinctly uneasy about the conjunction between the CORE pullout in the 29 August issue of Housing Today, featuring ethnicity and housing, and the cover story illustrated by assorted white males networking on the golf course?
This sends the wrong message – something like "ethnicity is something to worry about where tenants are concerned, but not when it gets down to serious stuff like chaps networking at the 19th hole".
In July, the National Housing Federation held a rebranding seminar for chairs and chief executives with, again, an alarming preponderance of white males. This too demonstrated how far we are from being representative of the communities we serve.
