SITO (SECURITY INDUSTRY Training Organisation) has announce that Sir Ronnie Flanagan, Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary, has agreed to be the key-note speaker at its National Training Conference 2004.
The conference, which has the title 'Together we can!' and will take place at the Kassam Stadium, Oxford on October 19, will be looking at the future workforce development requirements of the security industry as a result of both Government and end-user thinking.

At the event, Sir Ronnie will be discussing the results of HMIC's Thematic Inspection into the use of non-sworn personnel in policing.

Stefan Hay, Director of SITO said he was delighted that Sir Ronnie had accepted.

"Sir Ronnie's key-note speech marks an important development in the wider policing family. The fact that Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary has carried out this work is an example of the changing times that face the security industry and the importance of the industry becoming increasingly professional and respected.

"The theme of the conference focuses on the importance of partnership and the future developmental needs of the industry – and so Sir Ronnie's presence will be particularly apt", he said.
