Properties in Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, south London, are being refurbished as part of a project to provide more than a thousand homes. The scheme involving Berkeley Homes and Southern Housing Group has been given planning permission for 711 units, including 143 affordable homes, but a new application has been submitted to increase this to 1223 units with 317 affordable homes. The project is due to be competed in 2007.
