WSP carried out air quality surveys; flood risk assessment, based on proximity to the River Thames; traffic impact assessment; and developed an acoustics and broadcast solution which would provide remote viewing without turning the court room into a studio-type environment.

WSP project managed external security and hard landscaping, liaising with stakeholders including Westminster City Council and English Heritage on the installing of security measures within historic surroundings, adjacent to one of London’s busiest road junctions.

WSP’s design for the Salisbury Law Court complex also opens this month. The BREEAM Excellent project is one of the first court complexes of its kind in the country. The building houses three types of court -magistrates, crown and county - under one roof. The complex was designed to make maximum use of natural light and natural ventilation, while solar panels heat the domestic water supply.

WSP worked with architects Feilden + Mawson on both projects.
