WT Partnership acted as QS and employer’s agent on a recently completed £8m mixed-use development in Birmingham.

The scheme, designed by GMW Architects, is located in the Colmore Row and Environs Conservation Area.

The development was led by Crosby Special Projects in a joint venture with Land Securities.

The design acknowledges the conservation area as well as various styles of building on the adjoining New Street. It features a transparent curtain wall at the retail levels, which contrasts with modular terracotta panels at residential levels. It also includes a glass sculpture by Graham Jones.

The development incorporates 3,000m2 of residential accommodation over five levels set around an open courtyard, creating 52 one and two bedroom flats...
