The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers continues its support of the lighting industry with sponsorship of a comprehensive range of 15 awards each year. A clutch of these were presented recently, including the ECA-sponsored ECA/Lightmongers Award.

This prestigious title is awarded to the best student gaining the Lighting Education Trust (LET) Diploma in Lighting. It was won by self-employed designer Christine Griffin. The Robert Moss/Lightmongers Bursary was presented to Elizabeth Redgate, who has just set up as an independent interior designer. The Patricia Brain/ Lightmongers Merit Award was shared by corporals Darren Edwards and Matthew Leeding, of 606 Squadron RAAF.

The Lightmongers Prize at UMIST went to Jon-Paul Ward, a graduate engineer working for Faber Maunsell. Tamer Gado of Sheffield Hallam University was presented with a prize for best presented paper in the Young Lighters of the Year competition.
