Most ordinary people cannot engage with the elitist idea of carbon reduction targets. 'Green for growth' seems like just another faddy idea dreamt up by marketing executives to 'schmooze' government.

The Government's Green Deal won't work unless joe public sees a definite cost saving. Why would I pay a job trainee to assess my house's insulation and then take out an uncompetetive loan to pay his employer's uncompetitive installation price?

Most people just want to save money not the planet.
