Following breaches of security at Heathrow Airport, locking specialist Mul-T-Lock UK has warned that unauthorised access to restricted zones within airports will continue unless high quality access control systems are introduced.
The company says only by using physical locking systems with high security keys incorporating all the benefits of electronic access control can unauthorised access be prevented. The company has won several orders from high profile clients for its ELITE locking system, which embraces the physical and electronic aspects of access control.

Mul-T-Lock's Steve Horner explained why its patented system is more beneficial than current security techniques: "Swipe cards can be problematic as they can be duplicated, data interrogated and the power supply to a building disrupted. As most systems are programmed to leave the doors open after a power cut, anyone can get in and out."
