RCD operating time limits
RCD type	Trip time (at 100% of rated operating current)
General-purpose rcds to BS 4293 and rcd-protected socket outlets to BS 7288	Device is required to trip in under 200 ms
RCDs to BS 4293 (with time delay) eg 100 ms delay	Device should trip between 200 ms plus 50% of the time delay and 200 ms plus 100% of the time delay eg trip time between 250 ms and 300 ms
General-purpose rcds to BS 61 008 and rcbos to BS EN 61 009	Device should trip in under 300 ms
RCDs to BS EN 61 008 and BS EN 61 009 Type ‘S’	Device should trip between 130 ms and 500 ms
