Balfour Beatty has bought energy management specialist Colledge Trundle & Hall for £2.85m in cash.

The new business will become part of Balfour Beatty WorkPlace, its facilities management and m&e services division.

Colledge Trundle & Hall (CTH) specialises in the design and installation of automatic energy control systems for buildings and operates in markets that are complementary to Balfour Beatty WorkPlace's core business.

CTH customers include DEFRA, Sainsbury's and the University of Cambridge, and it is also working on several PFI schools projects.

The acquisition will enable Balfour Beatty WorkPlace to expand its service in the more complex market of energy management.

Balfour Beatty WorkPlace was rebranded from Haden Building Management to position it as a total facilities management provider.
