A handful of British companies flew the flag at exhibitions in Eastern Europe in January, when a lull in building activity forced by the winter proves the perfect time to hold trade fairs.
Philip Swann and Graham Pearce, Sales & Marketing Director and Business Development Director respectively of Winlock, braved the Russian winter to introduce the company’s products to visitors at the Fensterbau Frontale windows and doors exhibition in Moscow. The show was an extension of the well-established German trade fair. Winlock is currently in negotiations with one of Russia’s biggest distributors as a result of the visit.
Kombimatec machines have been exhibited in St. Petersburg and Moscow every year since 1997. The EV470 CNC automatic cleaner received a great deal of interest this time because of the new range of profiles with large rounded decorative surfaces that are being introduced on to the Russian market. Kombimatec will be at the Mosbuild Building Exhibition show in April.
Over in Poland, Saint Gobain, LB Plastics, Regalead, Titon Hardware and Windowmaker Software were among the exhibitors at the 14th edition of the Budma International Building Fair in Poznan. Dave Raven, there to promote Cooltemper tempering furnaces and Unilam International’s laminating products, was particularly pleased with the show.
‘We have enquiries from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Russia and Slovenia, and we are in very heavy negotiations with a company in the Ukraine for a large PVB laminating line and autoclave’, says Dave. ‘We already have toughening plants in Slovenia and Hungary, and we hope to extend into other Eastern areas this year.’
