Buro Happold will provide services engineering and computational simulation analysis to the UK's tallest residential and hotel development. Holloway Circus in central Birmingham, designed by Ian Simpson Architects, will be a 40-storey residential tower block with 150 apartments, residents' swimming pool and health club, next to a 220 bedroom 4 star hotel for Radisson SAS. All apartments will be provided with floor-to-ceiling glazing to take advantage of views across the city. Where possible, each residential apartment will be orientated towards the south to maximise the potential for solar gain. Work will start on the £26 million project in March 2003.
