A care home manager has been jailed for two-a-half years after being found guilty of stealing from the bank accounts of residents with mental disabilities.

Guy Kennedy was a manager at a New Era Housing Association home in Burncross, Sheffield.

He was convicted at Sheffield crown court last week of 12 offences between April 1996 and June 1999.

Sentencing him, Judge John Swanson said: "You were in a position of great trust, looking after the affairs of others by virtue that they were mentally disabled."
