All chartered surveyors will be subject to the same conduct and practice requirements, not just QSs. So why the silly headline?

The inference that surveyors who read your publication must, by definition, be QSs is erroneous. There are more than 12,000 building surveyor readers whom you consistently ignore.

Chartered surveyors should welcome this review with open arms. It will rid the profession of the very few cowboys that bring our institution into disrepute, and should avoid the unwelcome and unnecessary attentions of a government-backed watchdog that might otherwise be suggested by the over-zealous consumer lobby. The RICS has taken a clear lead in this issue and Sir Brian Carsberg should be congratulated.
