There were some great gizmos in your digital construction special (13 December).
But why does construction, of all industries, take for granted the appalling human interface design standards of the IT industry? If "tablet" software is so smart that it can read my handwriting (and that is smart), why does a spreadsheet formula bar need to feel as if it were a Second World War Enigma coding machine? Would Chris Wren really be impressed if he was told that on his next (PFI) cathedral job he would only be allowed to work with one piece of information in front of him at any time (you've trashed the printer, remember?)?
