Jones Lang LaSalle’s director of research rejects the strict rules of Apple and is distracted by social networking

Jones Lang LaSalle

What is your favourite website?

I’m not sure I can single one out, but the BBC is hard to beat.

What is your worst digital habit?

Obsessively checking my mail or twitter when I should be concentrating on something else, like looking after my two daughters.

iPhone/Blackberry/Android. Which side are you on?

Apple’s a bit of a control freak, it wants you to do things just so and only likes you talking to other Apple products. Android is more flexible and less rule-bound, and more to my taste. The only thing I like about BlackBerry is the battery life.

Are you into social networking? (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook etc)

Yes, all three, but Twitter is the main one for me.

Are you on Twitter? If so who do you recommend to follow?

Yes, and I recommend you follow me, @JonNeale

What is your favourite app?

I’m a keen cyclist, so it has to be MapMyRide.com, although Spotify is close behind.

What is your preferred means of communication? (eg. Email, phone, face to face, text etc)

Face to face, if it’s possible.

What did you last buy online?

Some tickets for a gig.

PC or Mac?

PC

Guilty pleasures: Most played tunes from iTunes/Spotify?

Old house tracks are my guilty pleasure, but at the moment, most played are bands like Trembling Bells and Erland and the Carnival
