I was rather surprised to see the headline “RICS to crack down on incompetent QSs” (8 April, page 14).

The Carsberg report is nothing to do with “incompetent QSs”, nor has anyone ever suggested this.

I trust you agree on reflection this was rather inaccurate reporting. The headline is so far away from the truth, especially as the Carsberg report was not QS-specific.

We in construction have a high regard for Building, which is a reflection of its quality and standards. To slur our QSs without any justification or reason does no credit to anybody.

I trust this is an unfortunate one-off and your high standards will prevail in future.
