One of the most popular rounds for longbow archers was a “two way” round, indeed these are still shot in the UK under Grand National Archery Society rules.

What this means is that there are targets at both ends of the field and so archers shoot first at the targets on one end then after collecting their arrows they shoot at the targets at the opposite end. Also, one fires a gun, not a bow. One shoots the bow or looses the arrow. If you fire a wooden bow, it burns.
