You described Castleford as "nondescript" in your profile of Sarah Wigglesworth. I think you should try a mind-expanding substance — which I've found Castleford to be, as someone involved in The Castleford Project.
"Cas", a town of about 30,000 people, had eight coal mines closed by Mrs Thatcher and then nothing much was done for nearly 20 years, which is pretty hard cheese – and tough times are unlikely to make a town nondescript.

The people of Cas don't deserve this description, either. Far from it. Castleford has got a fierce northern spirit that has been thwarted by its economic and administrative maladies.

I would urge you to get on a train and tell it like it really is, because until regeneration is occurring on a much imaginative basis in small "nondescript" towns, we will pay the price for that neglect for longer than we need to.
