There is nothing inherently dangerous about timber-frame construction

The fault at Peckham, as with the Colindale fire before it, lies with bad site supervision and inadequate security. All construction sites (not just timber-frame ones) should be properly protected with 24/365 security. Developers of timber-frame sites should follow the UK Timber Frame Association guidelines listed in its publication Sixteen Steps to Fire Safety on Timber Frame Construction sites, available at www.timber-frame.org.
