It’s good that the Candy brothers won their breach of contract case against developer Qatari Diar (“Candy brothers win Chelsea Barracks case”,, 25 June)

I’m struck by the fact that Prince Charles interfered so much, and had so little consideration for to the damage he caused. Everyone has heard about the Prince of Wales’ reputation of interference. This is not the first time he has left havoc in his wake.

One has to ask: where did Prince Charles receive his architectural training? His description of the proposed scheme as “brutalist” is not true. That style involves lots of harsh concrete in quite severe geometrical shapes.

In the matter of the Candy brothers, they are lucky enough to be in a position where they have both the finances and the cojones to take on this case. Many others are not so fortunate.

I hope this result will be food for thought for the prince and anyone else who thinks that everyone should roll over at their command. This case will show that perceived intimidation will no longer be tolerated.
