Will the inclemental weather of Wales really draw a crowd to a racing track?

Racing

As a construction professional and motor racing enthusiast I do not wish to “pee on the parade”, but seriously, an international circuit in Wales (Spanish giant wins £250m Welsh racing circuit job, www.building.co.uk, 31 October)? On first impressions it would appear to be a prestige project similar to those built in Spain that are now contributing to the financial woes of the Spanish local authorities (e.g. Castellon Airport).

It would be interesting to view how the business case takes into account the inclemental weather of Wales and how that will impact on attendance (and thus revenue). I can’t seeing it stack up myself.
