We are a fire and rescue service, and we would like to incorporate more energy-efficient elements in our offices, but there is no (or little) support from the government for this.

We did get a subsidised survey of our premises through the Carbon Trust, which gave a good idea of our current position – but this is not followed through with funding for the costs of the works.

We have recently refurbished our training centre and have made the buildings as efficient as we can afford, but we had to remove a ground heat pump system from the specification because of its cost.
