I am reassured to see from the photos attached to the article Welly Garden City (14 March, pages 60-62), that the landscape and natural countryside is being so effectively held back and not allowed to encroach on yet another “green development”.

I am glad to see that no natural greenery of any significance is allowed to break into the straight and strict lines of the sustainable objective.

Hold back nature and the natural world, I say. Don’t let any greenery confuse or defuse the green issues at stake. Bung in the odd tree and fill the ditches with drainage water. Sorted. Landscaping? Leave it outside mate, we‘ve got buildings here.
