Regeneration is always a positive move, however, we have to remember why some buildings built hundreds of years ago are still standing up and looking beautiful today, whereas most modern buildings turn ugly and dysfunctional after a few decades.

I propose that architects mimic nature and use natural materials wherever possible, instead of conveniently manufactured, energy wasting and inherently unstable combinations of so called “modern solutions” to suit modern financial outcomes. Maybe architects should only be allowed to work with stone, wood and glass for beautiful and functional human dwellings.
