Joanna Matsumiya agrees with the comments from Peter Rogers and then complains about being unable to find a position as a project manager (18 July, page 31).
She seems to have missed his point that project managers need to demonstrate they have been adequately trained.

The RICS offers a qualification route through its APC in project management which can lead to the designation chartered project management surveyor. There is also the RICS diploma in project management, and several post graduate courses available which will lead to an MBA or MSc in project management.

My advice is to pursue post-graduate study. The fact that someone is qualified as an architect, quantity surveyor or engineer does not mean they have the skills to manage people or projects, however much experience they have obtained.
