Ken Livingston (18 July, page 29) might be right that the Hungerford pedestrian bridges do not wobble, but to cite them as an example of project success is hardly warranted.
As I recall from your magazine, the cost escalated after the contract began from £22m to £42m because an inappropriate procurement process ignored the primary commercial and safety risk, namely the Bakerloo Line tunnels underneath the site.

I hope Ken is not implying that the Olympics will follow the same example.
