Your article, “Death of a dream” (13 February, page 40) is perhaps to be questioned

I visited Saudi Arabia on behalf of UK Trade and Investment from 20-28 February with a brief to explore opportunities for British expatriates to work there. I was fortunate to meet a range of people representing government, commerce and industry and to hear their views on this subject.

Everyone I met recognised that Saudi Arabia’s culture has some different features to, say, Dubai and among the expatriate community, they are generally well known.

Your article is technically correct but I believe might not be helpful to a growing number of unemployed expatriates keen to remain overseas. Surely it is better to promote the benefits of working in Saudi Arabia, than put people off.
