Your lead news article on 6 February, "Multiplex warned 'safety is a serious concern with PC Harrington'" highlights just how far we have to go.
Although it is difficult to make an objective judgement in this particular case, the too widely held belief that the issue of safety lies with only those "qualified to make any judgments on safety" has to change.

I have been involved in the industry for 13 years and have always tried to put safety at the top of the agenda. It is my view that safety in our industry is everyone's concern, from site operative to senior management, consultant to client. If those involved in the construction process start ignoring concerns over safety, our industry will continue to kill and injure.
