Dectel has launched a new service to help CCTV users comply with Data Protection Act requirements on image quality, audit trails and data subject requests.
Dectel's image auditing service provides a systematic approach to ensure CCTV images retain their quality when using any of the available recording media. Dectel also provides audit trail support with tape labelling and documentary logs, which are important when recorded images are removed from the system to be admissible evidence in court.

The company is also able to accommodate data subject requests. The law requires CCTV users to provide people whose images are recorded, with relevant footage if they ask to view it. Providing footage of the subject requires the privacy of other individuals to be protected by masking or other methods before the tape is handed over.
