Disabled children and their parents experience many more problems with housing than other families, according to research carried out by York University for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

The survey found that nine out of 10 families with a severely disabled child have at least one significant difficulty with housing.

The research says a minority of these families have received help from statutory agencies.
