The Irish government this week unveiled plans to redevelop the Landsdowne Road rugby stadium in Dublin, designed by architects HOK Sport and Scott Tallon Walker.

The government is stumping up £130m of the £249m budget on the scheme for the 50,000 seater stadium. The design, on which the project team that includes consultants Franklin + Andrews and Capita Symonds worked for four months, makes use of translucent and reflective materials to minimise the impact on the local area by reflecting as much light as possible.
