Battle McCarthy has been invited by architects TR Hamzah & Ken Yeang to carry out an embodied assessment and advise on the selection of low environmental impact building materials for the proposed National Library Board building in Singapore.
The assessment will review the current materials selection and ensure that the specifications for the building design can be regarded as sustainable.

Battle McCarthy will outline sources of origin and supply as well as advise on the toxic and allergic aspect of the materials. If current specifications and selections are inadequate then advice will be given on suitable replacements.

During the assessment the range of issues considered will include the embodied effect on climate change and fossil fuel depletion, ozone depletion, and waste disposal.

The team will be lead by Prashnat Kapoor, head of the sustainable design consultancy at Battle McCarthy.
