The Building Services Best Practice Programme (BSBPP) has become an initiative between BSRIA, CIBSE, ECA, FETA and HVCA.
It is the first time the five organisations have joined forces to promote industry improvement. It is hoped the collaboration will give the BSBPP more drive and strengthen the image of the building services sector. The programme also has a new independent secretariat led by Judy Payne, former commercial director at CIRIA.

"In an industry that has frequently been referred to as adversarial, the BSBPP is clear evidence of the representative bodies working together for the good of the industry," says Robert Higgs, director of HVCA.

BSBPP is funded by the DTI under the Partners in Innovation scheme and is run in tandem with the Construction Best Practice Programme. It provides an initial point of contact for building services firms and a signposting service to expert knowledge and Best Practice techniques.

More details of the BSBPP scheme is available on-line at www.bsbpp.org.uk, or by calling 0845 6065704.
