Hampshire contractor goes from nowhere to top spot for February, ahead of Sir Robert McAlpine and Kier.
Hampshire-based contractor Dean & Dyball has come out of nowhere to clinch top spot in the contractors' monthly table for February. The privately owned firm won a £160m contract for an academic innovation centre in Emerson Green, Bristol.

Sir Robert McAlpine has moved up one to second spot with contracts worth £105.5m. Kier has risen to third with £77m of work, while Tyneside-based Tolent Construction reaches fourth place.

Tesco has leaped to first place on the clients' yearly table, having awarded 34 contracts worth £1.12bn.

Building Design Partnership is still on top of the architects' yearly table.
